September 2021 Dividend Report (Record month!)

Let me start this post by saying that I’m really excited about the results of last month! As the title indicates this is an absolute record month for me and really boosted my confidence in staying on the DGI path that I am on together with my family.

As September came to a close the Summer season is definitely over and we are getting more and more rain & cold. Autumn is shaping up and with the exclusion of some sunny days its not my favourite time of the year.

Restrictions are slowly being lifted across the country and I have been returning to the office more and more. My regular schedule is now two days at the office (Monday and Friday) and three days at home. I also notice that with more frequent contac with other people my spirits also have been lifted. I really am a social / people person at heart 🙂

Enough of the small talk, that’s (probably) not what you came here to see. Onwards to the dividend results!

TickerAmount (€)
Holy smokes, look at that total!

23 companies (!) deposited their dividends into my brokerage account, ready to be reinvested (manually) in other or the same dividend stocks. New payer this month is ASR and keen observers will see that I increased my positions in Unilever and Ahold significantly. Together with biannual payers like RELX and WKL this months packs a wickedly awesome punch! This month represents my absolute record dividend amount ever AND the first time I’ve crossed the €300 mark!

Here are the visuals:

Even the scales needed to be adjusted!

And working towards my 2021 goal of €1750 in dividends received:

Looking great!

And (inspired by Engineering Dividends) a new graph with my annual dividend totals:

Essentially already at the same level as last year’s total.

How amazing are these results! I actually can’t believe it! We’re done with month #9 and we still have three months to go!

September 2020€157,20
September 2021: €306,08

A whopping increase of 94,71%% compared to last year!

The progress is definitely real going through my fifth year as a dividend growth investor starting back in March of 2017 (with a monthly total of €1,98).

As always my results are converted from their base currency to euro and are post-tax.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the awesome results of this month and ofcourse on your own results. Please let me know in the comments!

  1. Awesome results and the growth is super inspiring for me. I started in December 2017 but could not really put meaningful contributions until June the following year. I look to be where you were this time last year (ish)

I noticed you have VTRS in you portfolio. I have been looking at them and considering if I should pull the trigger. They have huge potential in my opinion

    1. Hi EMF and welcome to the blog! Is there some place where I can follow your journey as well? It’s an honor to be found inspirational since it wasn’t that long ago that I was looking up to many in this community (and I still do!)

VTRS has been going around the community. I’ve seen people like the DividendDiplomats buying large. It looks interesting, the only problem I have is that my broker (DeGiro) does not include this company in the US Dividend Green list, meaning that they won’t recover dividend tax (15%) which makes it less interesting to be honest.

      1. You already follow along 🙂 I came from a comment on my blog. Have you tried IBRK. I have both DeGiro and IBRK and the fees are nearly identical.

I am tempted to pull the trigger this month and add some to my portfolio. They could easily 3x in price from here

    1. Thanks SD! I was kind of surprised about the difference compared to last year. It’s a shame that three companies pay out biannual so I won’t be seeing the same results in December 😉

  2. Hi!!! Congrats for that monthly record!!! Funnily enough September was also record month for me, much more modest though hahaha. In my case the golden goose (geese? don’t know) were RIO and BHP that payed their juicy yearly dividends.

Nice to find a new dividend growth blog to follow, cheers!

  3. Nice result mr Robot and congratulatulations on the €300 mark! Can you explain the big jump compared to last year? Is it based mostly on dividend increases or “just” buying stocks that pay in September?

  4. Congratulations, Mr. Robot! Your progress is truly inspiring and I really like your diversification with 23 dividend payers in one month. A couple of Dutch companies do the heavy lifting, while the yanks add up nicely. Keep on pushing!
